HELP FOR BACK STIFFNESS
WHY IS MY BACK SO STIFF IN THE MORNING??
November 26, 2019
today we discuss if you have to have chiropractic care forever once you start

Is chiropractic care really forever? Many people have heard the rumor that once you start chiropractic care you become addicted, or you have to come the rest of your life, or something along those lines.

People also come up to me once they find out I’m a chiropractor to tell me “well I don’t believe in that”. Like it is a religion? A cult maybe? That I make you worship me (well that part might be true)?  This was an aside, so sorry but I can get worked up combating all the rumors and nonsense that I encounter.

Anyways, back to becoming addicted to chiropractic care. I am here to tell you that nothing about chiropractic care is addictive. Just like getting massages is not addictive, nor is exercise. However, all three of these tend to make you feel good! Personally, I like to do things for myself that make me feel good. Yes, I work out and plan to do that forever. I also enjoy massages on a regular basis. Does that make me addicted to them? NO.

That being said, some people choose to only seek chiropractic care for injuries and pain- relief, and once they are pain- free they stop care. There is nothing wrong with this! The more you are doing for yourself in between adjustments/treatment the quicker you recover from an injury and the healthier you are overall. However, some people feel that chiropractic adjustments and treatments keep them feeling better overall and they choose to continue care on a less frequent schedule once their problem has been resolved. Think of regular chiropractic care as helping to prevent future injury and allow your body to function properly.

The option is always up to you at ProMotion Chiropractic. We believe you know your body best (or should) and while we personally choose to get adjusted on a regular basis, it is not an addiction that you can’t shake off. You won’t need to enter rehab to break up with chiropractic. Just try doing some of Dr. Schroeder’s rehab exercises and pay attention to your posture/how you carry yourself throughout the day and you might just be ok. 🙂
